Who will be the next president of America?

September 16, 2016 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Just when we think it can’t get any worse….it does. For Mr Trump, it is serious ‘gloves off’ time, with brutal fighting and a strong emphasis on nationalism and populism.

This past week alone has seen Trump invoke the power of second amendment supporters to do something about Hilary Clinton….he has accused Obama and Clinton as being co-founders of ISIS, he has called for new ideological screening tests or ‘extreme vetting’ of immigrants  and has overhauled his campaign team for the second time in two months.

Mrs. Clinton, on the other hand, is the second most unpopular presidential nominee in history — after Mr. Trump.

For an interesting insight into this crazy election process,  please join us in conversation with Tom Switzer. Tom is uniquely placed to share with us his knowledge of’ the 2016 American Presidential Election; the U.S. electoral process, the background of this election, his prediction and more.

Tom Switzer is a senior fellow at the United States Studies Centre at the University of Sydney where he teaches undergraduate courses in US politics, US foreign policy, US-Australia relations and Australian diplomatic history. He is the host of ‘Between the Lines’ on the ABC’s Radio National, a regular guest on Sky News and ABC (television and radio) and has appeared on the BBC, CNBC, Bloomberg and Al Jazeera English.

Conversely is very proud to be supporting our local Highlands BDCU CHILDREN’S FOUNDATION for this event. All proceeds from ticket sales will go directly to assisting their efforts in addressing the mental health needs of children and adolescents.
