Elephants and Donkeys…. making sense of the US electoral process.

March 4, 2016 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

$35

From primaries and caucuses to electoral colleges, the US election process can be very confusing.  Even more bewildering is the staggering amount of money required by candidates to run for president due to the long and complex campaigns they have to run.  Conversely would like to simplify all that for you, with the help of Mr Stephen Loosley AM, a well known political insider and highly regarded expert on the issue.  Stephen will cover all the basic terminology and clarify the way the US political system works.  He will also give his views on the candidates running in 2016, their platforms, political leanings and chances of winning.

Having been an Australian Senator and Chairman of the Joint Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, Strategic Counsel with Minter Ellison Lawyers, and now Chairman of the Australian Strategic Policy Institute, Stephen is certainly well versed on all things politics.  He is widely regarded as an expert on American politics, but also has the ability to strip it back for those of us, like me, who find the whole thing to be gobbledygook.

We’re now in the midst of ‘primary season’, and with such interesting characters (and hairstyles) running for office, it’s the perfect time to get your head around this complex topic.
