Zoe Young’s Conversely talk and tour of the Archibald Exhibition last year was so well received, that we have had many who attended and many who couldn’t asking for us to organise another session with the very talented, local Southern Highlander.
For the two time Archibald finalist, this is the artists first solo exhibition with Piermarq Gallery in Paddington. Her latest series of paintings are a collage of time; coalesced with childhood memories, everyday interactions and accidental fascinations – a book, an heirloom, a ripe plum from the garden.
Zoe’s still life compositions are unashamedly feminine, and are an intimate reflection of her environment and lifestyle, as a mother of two working from a countryside studio. Since having children Zoe has become wary of the accelerated pace of modern life.
Her paintings are an attempt to slow down and grasp time, by capturing unique, tranquil moments and distilling them on canvas.
Please join us at the gallery for morning tea and a chance to hear from and chat to Zoe herself.
